Who We Are

Edgel Mission — Feeding Program
Over 150 children call Edgel home

Edgel Mission is a Christian-based charity that strives to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable and needy children in Nakuru, Kenya. We rescue children from the slums, rehabilitate them, and meet their fundamental needs through daily feeding, education, skills & talent development, spiritual growth and health & sanitation — all made possible through God’s provision. Founded in 2012 by Dr. Benjamin Mbatia and registered under the Societies Act of Kenya.

Who We Serve

Orphans, destitute and street children within the informal settlements of Nakuru County — Kaptembwo, Bondeni and Kwa Rhonda.

Why Nakuru

Most slum residents survive on less than a dollar a day. From the age of five, children here are treated as a source of income and sent to scavenge through toxic waste; many end up on the streets, where the average lifespan of a street child is just 20 years. This is the cycle Edgel Mission exists to break.
