Our Goals
Short-Term Development Goals
- School uniforms & shoes for pupils transitioning to new grades.
- A 50,000-litre underground water tank to harvest rainwater — piped water reaches the Academy only once or twice a week, yet we use ~7,000 litres a day.
- Playground equipment — a swing set, climber, seesaws and a merry-go-round for the children’s development.
Long-Term Development Goals
A ten-acre piece of land to build a full boarding school for orphans, destitute and street children, running from primary through senior secondary. The current Edgel Academy will continue as a rehabilitation centre and pre-primary school.
A boarding school would end the disruption of a ¼-acre site built to capacity, reduce the higher long-run cost of sponsoring pupils elsewhere, shield children from abuse at home, make Christ-centred training consistent, and remove the perennial absenteeism caused by families being repeatedly evicted.
